Nothing like that "New bus smell". This is a lock box mounted on the partition behind the drivers seat. Thousands have been mounted here with the only primary concern to make the screws short enough to insure they do not protrude through the back side into the foam. I have seen some 3rd party installers put them here also, but for some reason they used 6 or 8 gauge screws, and only 2 at the top of the box. When FMI mounts them here we use a minimum or 6 and they are 10-12 gauge so the much thicker diameter will be much more supportive.
